Advocates for Scholarly Teaching (AST)

DSC_0044The Advocates for Scholarly Teaching (AST) actively support NMSU in increasing and documenting institutional effectiveness by encouraging, creating and sustaining an environment that focuses on the continuous improvement of student learning through course-level assessment and scholarly teaching.

The next Peer Review Network (PRN) will be formulated in Spring, 2017. Based on the work of Denton, Sipple and Cooper-Freytag, the PRN provides opportunities for faculty to engage in collegial review of instructional strategies across typical disciplinary divides. In this network faculty members submit reflective documents concerning their teaching, and then review the same from a peer.
